Hi my name is Trudie,
Tru for short. I'm twenty years old and
I'm a first year Tourism with Business student. Next Monday I start my second semester and I am dreading it. My 1st semester wasn't great. I got too caught up in the student social life, out partying most nights and days. This semester the same thing can't happen. My work suffered really bad for it. I'm almost certain I have failed some of my
Christmas exams. I'm kinda lucky in a sense that my year is mostly based on overall
assessments so I might just make it through.
I love Waterford though. I've made some great friends and got myself a lovely boyfriend. I live in a flat with a guy Alan (17). He's a bit crazy sometimes but I get on great with him. One of my friends that I've made in class lives close by so were always in and out of each others places.
Its tough some time due to the serious lack of money I cant really afford to do spur of the moment things
every things gotta have a plan. It can be really frustrating sometimes. Its hard because my family have no money, my dad and sister are students too and my mam cant work so money is tight. I get paid to attend College but it is only paid on attendance and once a month and straight away my rent is taking and then
ESB has to be paid and food must be bought. If I could live at home I would but my parents both know that if I lived at home I
wouldn't get up for College as it would require getting up really really early. (I'm quite lazy!!)
But all in all life so far is fun and interesting since I moved to Waterford and become a student. Oh I suppose I better tell you what I want from my course. I want to become a holiday rep for a year or two while
I'm still young and then return to do my degree and a business course and hopefully one day run my own business.
That's if all goes to plan!!
I plan to keep my blog updated as often as possible and I'll tell readers all about my day to day/week to week life as a student. I
don't know if
there is a place here where u can post comments but if u can please feel free to and I hope you enjoy reading my little blog.
